Grant of Financial Assistance for the Funeral Expenses of Old Age/Destitute Pensioner

Objective

To provide financial assistance to perform last funeral rites in the event of demise of the Old Age, Widow and Destitute Pensioner.

Amount of assistance

₹ 15,000/- as Funeral Expenses.

Eligibility

The pensioner should have been under the care and maintenance of the applicant at the time of his/her death and incurred expenses towards his/her funeral.
Should apply on or before 60 days from the date of death of pensioner
If the deceased has not received the pension for more than 3 months prior to his/ her death, the application for grant of funeral expenses shall not be entertained.
No payment shall be made if he/ she has received similar assistance from any other Department.

Certificates to be enclosed

Original Pension Identity Card of the pensioner.
Original Death Certificate of the pensioner issued by the Competent authority.
Certificate/ documents to establish the relationship between the deceased and the applicant.
Certificate from concerned Anganwadi Worker/ Local Panchayat President or any other responsible person of the society.
Ration Card, Election ID and Aadhar copies of both
Bank statement copies of the pensioner.
